About

In 1989 I dreamed of someday having the resources or the patronage to make my first film. A decade later I had five features under my belt as writer, producer and director, and all had been distributed around the globe.

In the mid to late 1990s consumer digital video equipment hit the market and changed the world. Myself and a handful of other ambitious, like-minded film geeks, armed ourselves and started making movies in our backyards with great hubris and no money - and we got them distributed world-wide. My movies flooded the video store shelves for a brief time. Now, the VHS graveyard is littered with Ron Ford product.

More than a dozen titles appeared in the late 1990s and early 2000s that I wrote and directed. Films with titles like Alien Force, The Mark of Dracula, Riddled with Bullets, Dead Time Tales, Deadly Scavengers, The Crawling Brain, Dead Season, and Witchcraft XI: Sisters in Blood.

One of my earliest films, Hollywood Mortuary, developed a cult following that continues to this day.

I was also hired to write the 1994 horror hit The Fear, and the 2001 Full Moon release, Vampire Resurrection.

Today I am an all-around media content creator. I can write, direct, produce, schedule, edit and act.

As an actor I have been in dozens of films, including Home of the Brave with Samuel Jackson and Mozart and the Whale with Josh Hartnett. I played Re-Pete on season 3 of Z-Nation, for the SyFy Channel. I work often as a stage actor.
